washing machine

For a quick maintenance clean of your washing machine you will need a cap full of bicarb of Soda and a cap full of your washing powder. Place these in the drum of your washing machine and put onto your hottest setting and let the machine run through the full cycle. Once it has finished its cycle it will be ready to use again.

For a deeper clean, you will need to remover the detergent draw and place to soak in a bowl of detergent (I normally use flash, as it works through any grime build up and leaves it smelling nice and fresh) whilst the draw is soaking use a sponge to wipe the seal around the drum, use a bowl of water with flash to clean any residue build up. Once the seal around the drum has been cleaned, move onto the area around the draw, using a fresh bowl of water and flash solution wipe inside the draw and remove any build up. Put a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda in the draw area and spray with some white vinegar. You will see a reaction, and this is what you will want to happen to clean the internal channels. Once both these areas have been cleaned place the cleaned draw back and set on a high temperature wash with a cap full of your favourite zoflora in the detergent drawn. This will leave your washing machine clean and smelling fresh.

Always try and leave your washing machine with the detergent draw open, and door open. This will allow air to move freely and not trap any smells within the machine.
